August 15, Hat Creek park

The boys were playing around at being bunnies on Sunday,

because both of Thomas' eye teeth fell out.

Sunday afternoon we went to Hat Creek park to hang out with some friends and relax. It was a beautiful day!

The boys caught crawdads under the edge of the bank. (catch and release)

Washington DC (finally)

In D.C. I had lots of fun! I went to many memorials and museums.


I did not get lots of cool pictures because it said not to take pictures...





This picture is of an honor guard doing their patrolling, I got to see them switch people, I even recorded it!



















The cemetery is Arlington Cemetery, it was sadly humongous!

We went to fords theater where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated and died in a building across the street.

Tween Retreat 2010

I have been very busy, and recovering from VBS and the Tween retreat, so I have not been keeping up on the blog.
God is awesome!! Both events went very smoothly, and as the Bible says those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, they will rise up with wings like eagles. (Isaiah 40:31). I certainly could not have gotten everything done in my own strength! On the retreat we witnessed God's majesty through the beauty of his creation, and we got to hike to hell and back (Bumpass Hell). It was quite an experience! We even had our own small forest fire Saturday night, to add to the excitement. And there is nothing like playing in the snow during a hot summer hike!

We had an awesome retreat!

The staff all worked very well together, God's masterpiece around us was perfect, and everyone had fun.
