We had our annual Superbowl Fellowship gathering on February 5th.
Everyone had a good time, and there was more food than anyone could possibly ever eat!!
God has been giving us some beautiful sunsets. My camera can not do justice to the depth of color, it is so much more intense in real life!
We had our annual J12 fundraiser on Feb 18th. Here is the dedicated wait staff.
Everyone enjoyed being served by the kids, and no one went away hungry!
The kids all have a great time dressing up and serving people. They custom make salads at the table, and keep everyone's glass full.
And have a bit of fun too!
A family at our church has an exchange student from Korea named Jae Won.
She is Becky's age and will be here for a year.
We did a valentine craft in children's church on the 19th.
Another beautiful sunset
We drove down to the Bay Area the 24th for Miresa's birthday.
Miresa is Becky's best friend. She turned 18 on the 25th. Thomas' best friend Elisha turned 10 the same day, so Thomas was at his house for a sleepover.
The kids went roller skating Friday afternoon
Teresa and I picked up the cakes while the kids were skating.
Some of the teens had to give skating lessons to the weaker skaters.
They were very patient with each other, which was awesome. This is a great group of teens.
We visit every February, and many of these teens come up to Burney in July to help run VBS and the J12 retreat.
After skating we went to the church, and I popped in to check on Thomas
Miresa's party stopped at the picnic tables to inhale some pizza.
We set up cake and balloons upstairs in the cafe
Of course what 18 year old doesn't love My Little Pony balloons!
The kids played at the youth ministry Gym Jam and had a great time
When it got windy, they played charades in the Cafe
Miresa went on stage to sing during half time
While she was on stage, Pastor Rob helped surprise her with her secret gift...
He told everyone that a cell phone had been turned in to him...
And then said the phone belonged to Miresa
She was completely surprised and embarassed!
You could see her clutching the phone tightly in her hand the rest of the night
After half time we had cake and ice cream in the cafe
I went to pick up Thomas at Elisha's party Saturday and got there just in time for more cake and ice cream!
This is a great picture.
It is nice to see all the kids from our old church occasionally, and see how much they have grown!
I also got to visit for a bit with Yohn and Ruth, Pastor Gene and Susan, and several other friends. It was a great weekend!
James and I finished up February in the ER, getting stitches on his foot. He dropped a lid from an aluminum can on his foot at just the right angle to slice deeply.
He is the first Chapman kid to get sutures, although Thomas got Dermabond on his face last year.
And now every 4 years on leap day, we will have the anniversary of James' stitches.
