Injury

Last night I went to pick up Becky from track, then dropped James off at Washburn field for practice at 5:00 and went home to get Thomas ready for his 6:00 game at Bailey field. I was expecting to pick up James on the way home from Thomas' game, because he normally gets done around 7:30, but I got a call to come pick him up at 5:30, because he was injured. We picked up James on the way to Thomas' game. He went to catch a fly ball, it went into the sun and he couldn't see it, then it hit him in the mouth. there is a small scrape below his mouth on the outside, but his teeth cut him deeply on the inside. Both of his lips are swollen. I got him an ice tickle to soothe the pain. The coaches had packed it in gauze as soon as it happened, and it stopped bleeding quickly. That is very good, because you are only allowed to get injured between 9 am and 5 pm in Burney. I would have had to drive him to Fall River or Redding to get stitches. He can't be injured this week, anyways, because there's STAR testing at school all week :)
Actually, he's a tough little guy. Usually he goes right back in after he's been injured, but the coach thought that would make him start bleeding again.
