VBS: July 2011

The pictures uploaded out of order... Maybe because they were from three different cameras, so they are all labeled differently.

The skits, written by Teresa Wilson, were very good and the kids enjoyed them.

(Check out Teresa's blog In His Love in the left margin of my blog)

The kids all had a great time

Everyone enjoyed the snacks and food all week.  Here are S'mores on a stick

We had alot of fun games and activities.  We brought back the bridge from last year, the kids all love running from the boulders and crossing the bridge.

As always, the kitchen crew helped out a great deal, making snacks and lunches for the kids all week.

The kids also enjoyed craft time.  We had a western theme this year, so we decorated hats and bandanas, made snake lanyards, made journals and a picture frame.

Thomas' snake lanyard is eating another lanyard

This was a fun activity, the kids were blindfolded and had to follow directions guiding them through the obstacles.

Becky was in charge of the smallest group, the 4-6 year olds.

They had to get the boots and supplies across the bridge without getting hit by a boulder.

The boulders were beach balls covered in brown paper

Indian fry bread to go with our stew

Each group did a skit that they worked on throughout the week.  The 10-12 year old group had a lot of fun with theirs.

 Making Melodies

Our awesome worship team did a great job!

And sometimes they had help from the crowd

These pictures should have been first,

we're setting up the stage the weekend before VBS

We even had a small corral outside

The crew made a great sign!

We had the groups split up every day after the daily skit, one group would work on their Bible verses and group skits, one group would do crafts, and the third group would do the activity, then we would rotate.

We had several different relay races throughout the week
